Survivor Stories© was created as a community service project at The Art School™ in Vestal, NY, in the winter of 2009. Art School™ founder and director Nancy Barno Reynolds worked with longtime friend, Assistant Professor Gloria Di Fulvio of U-MASS Amherst, and JC Gray Sawyer, to create these mini films. DiFulvio and Sawyer ran the workshop for these ladies and edited their final films. Survivor Stories© are the stories of nine woman and their experiences with cancer. Six of the women are breast cancer survivors. Three of the women have been the empowering force behind their children, who have all survived cancer.

Our mission is to educate the communities where we live and around the country with these digital films, spreading the message of hope to those with similar diagnosis. We offer them to hospitals and other organizations with that same goal. Maria McGuane, from Impressions By Briana, donated pink ribbons to our cause, in order to help raise awareness of our local cancer community and to support our project. The stories have been utilized by our locaI chapter of The American Cancer Society® and by Relay For Life®. If your organization would like to order a copy of these stories, please contact The Art School™ at info@theartschoolonline.com . Visit our home page to see more: www.theartschoolonline.com.

Welcome to our little corner of the universe! We hope you will find inspiration for yourself and for those you love….

Dr. Gloria DiFulvio and JC Gray Sawyer from the University of Massachusetts
Amherst facilitated the three day workshop and edited the films you see here.
